The Origin Green Promise is an unprecedented one. It is the only sustainability programme in the world that operates on a national scale, uniting government, the private sector and food producers through bord bia, the irish food board.
Today, sustainability is a driving force for many businesses. We understand that it is increasingly a factor in choosing the suppliers or companies with whom you do business.
Working with Origin Green members you can be assured that the farmers and food producers you deal with have a proven – and independently verified – commitment to sustainability.
Origin Green strives for sustainability across three key areas: Raw material sourcing, Manufacturing processes, and Social sustainability.
Honest are very proud to be an Origin Green member. We believe Origin Green has allowed us to grow at a faster pace because we became a sustainable business very early on.
Origin Green came for a visit and created this wonderful video which can be viewed below.
Great taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, is the acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink. It has been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world. Quite simply the ‘Great Taste’ logo is the sign you can trust when buying food and drink in your local quality retailer.
Honest have received four ‘Great Taste’ awards over the years.
- 2012 ‘one star’ Apricot and Cherry cake
- 2013 ‘one star’ Date and Pecan cake
- 2013 ‘one star’ Chocolate and Orange pudding
- 2016 ‘one star’ Stem Ginger and Oat biscuit
A ‘one star’ award means ‘a food that delivers fantastic flavour’ and is ‘simply delicious’.
The judging to receive these awards is tense, only a third of all applicants receive any sort of rating.
There are ten weeks of judging across Ireland and the UK. The judges include retailers, journalists, chefs, food writers, restaurateurs and buyers. All of the products judged are blind tasted so there is no branding, this ensures a completely unbiased rating. The ‘Great Taste’ awards are committed to finding and promoting the best products in the world.
We are delighted to announce that our dedicated gluten free facility has been certified a BRC AA site by the NSF certification UK ltd, the largest global certification provider in the food and farming sector.
The audit took place over two days in May, two very stressful days I may add. The audit takes into account every stage in the production of our products.
For you, our customers, this means that you can be guaranteed the safest and highest quality products when you buy anything with the Honest label on the box.
