Great taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, is the acknowledged benchmark for fine food and drink. It has been described as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world. Quite simply the ‘Great Taste’ logo is the sign you can trust when buying food and drink in your local quality retailer.

Honest have received four ‘Great Taste’ awards over the years.

  • 2012 ‘one star’ Apricot and Cherry cake
  • 2013 ‘one star’ Date and Pecan cake
  • 2013 ‘one star’ Chocolate and Orange pudding
  • 2016 ‘one star’ Stem Ginger and Oat biscuit

A ‘one star’ award means ‘a food that delivers fantastic flavour’ and is ‘simply delicious’.

The judging to receive these awards is tense, only a third of all applicants receive any sort of rating.

There are ten weeks of judging across Ireland and the UK. The judges include retailers, journalists, chefs, food writers, restaurateurs and buyers. All of the products judged are blind tasted so there is no branding, this ensures a completely unbiased rating. The ‘Great Taste’ awards are committed to finding and promoting the best products in the world.
